Bio: Helen Adams Keller was an American author, activist, and lecturer who became deaf and blind after an illness at 19 months old. She learned to communicate by reading lips through touch, reading and writing Braille, and eventually speaking. Keller's achievements made her internationally famous. She dedicated her life to improving the lives of people with disabilities, working for the American Foundation for the Blind for over 40 years.
